Getting To The Mind Of The Matter

As with any exercise, getting into a regular yoga routine can be challenging. You may feel better after each session. But, still, when you return to the mat, you’re at risk of the ‘can’t be bothered approach’. When it comes to exercise, our minds sometimes block us from what our bodies need. And, if you find yourself resisting yoga, that’s exactly what’s happening.

But, this isn’t all about the body. Remember, yoga is equal parts body and mind. So, if your head is blocking your body from getting the exercise it needs, pay it some attention. Obviously, something’s going on up there. Unless you address the issue, you’ll find it near enough impossible to break the barrier. Which is why, next time you lock horns with your brain about yoga, it’s worth asking yourself these questions.

Why am I finding my practice difficult?

First, understand the primary barrier to your practice. It may be that your mind is fighting against a calmer lifestyle. After all, the ego grabs onto its position with a vice-like grip. When your yoga practice threatens to ruin that, your mind could attempt to sabotage the practice. Or, perhaps you’re avoiding realisations which have arisen during your training. If yoga is the first place you’ve practiced meditation, this can happen. Your mind will shut down, and try to foil your attempts. Sadly, there’s no easy fix. All you can do is keep forcing through, and ignoring those thoughts which attempt to keep you away. It may be worth exploring your feelings deeper and approaching them with acceptance. Over time, you may find that the feelings shift and change.

Or, the issue may be that you can’t muster the energy to come to your mat. You might not have time, or you may be struggling with illness and other reasons for lethargy. It’s also worth noting that many people embark on diets like the Lipotrim when delving into yoga. In many ways, this is a good thing, as it ensures your system is as clear as your mind. But, embarking on a low-calorie diet when you’re exercising more can be tricky. You’ll have less energy, and your practice may fall apart. If this is the case, it may be worth altering the course of your eating.
Opting for an alternative like the Shake That Weight plan may be a wiser choice, as it has a better range than Liptorim and allows you to eat more often. Or, you may want to set such diets aside until your practice has become more established.

What is your motivation?

It’s also worth asking yourself what your motivation is. Some people embark on yoga to find spiritual bliss, while others aim for a healthier lifestyle. Whenever your resolve shakes, remind yourself of that motivation. Use it as a mantra, and repeat it to yourself throughout each practice. While yoga isn’t about end goals, remembering why you turn up to the mat can be a massive help towards making sure it happens.

Be sure to have your items in an easy-to-reach place from INSIDE your vehicle – your trunk could get jammed or frozen; so if you put it in your trunk, make sure that you can access it from inside.
As far as food – of course make sure its something you can eat hot or cold, things that keep well are nuts, beef jerky, trail mix, etc.

911 tips:

  • If possible, call 911 on your cell phone. Provide your location, condition of everyone in the vehicle and the problem you’re experiencing.
  • Follow instructions: you may be told to stay where you are until help arrives.
  • Do not hang up until you know who you have spoken with and what will happen next.
  • If you must leave the vehicle, write down your name, address, phone number and destination. Place the piece of paper inside the front windshield for someone to see.

Kia Wins “Best Car for the Money” Award

There are a lot of things that make a great vehicle – speed (my favorite lol), fuel economy, safety (most important) design, and nowandays tech. Though I’d love a good sports car to be my daily driver, that’s not real life, so I have to consider all the other stuff. . oh and money.

The U.S. News and World Report Best Car for the Money Award is one that I always keep an eye on – and that’s why I am so excited that for 2017 there wasn’t just one, but two Kia vehicles who took home the honor!

The 2017 Kia Soul and the 2017 Kia Sorento received top honors compared to other cars on the basis of safety, reliability and a consensus of industry experts opinions, along with value! The Soul won the Compact Car segment, The Sorento won the 3-row SUV segment (even beating the Highlander and Pilot)

Both cars were named as winners because they have a long-term value in their classes. The Soul stands out amount compact cars for abundance of cargo and passenger space (and a quite modern interior design – and exterior for that matter) all for an excellent price. Like the Soul, the Sorento is perfect for those that need a mid-size SUV. It has some great user friendly tech features, a great fuel economy and the third-row seating is what (to me) throws it over the edge of the competition.

Kia also had some second place finishers such as the Forte, Rio and Sedona – so essentially five in the best value categories. With Kia products still improving -and showing their value over the last 20 years – it’s no wonder they will give you the most bang for your buck!
Check out all the Soul and Sorento’s at your local Kia dealership.

The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Smartphone Control App

It seems like most everything in our lives can be controlled or influenced by an app – you know the phrase, “oh, there’s an app for that” and pretty much now it applies to almost anything – from paying bills, to managing your schedule, and everything in between. One of the coolest new app features I’ve found is the new vehicles that let you control your car from your phone – like the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Smartphone Control App.

One of the most tech advanced models in the Mitsubishi line up, there’s no surprise that the PHEV has some pretty awesome features. The Wi-Fi EV remote app gives you, the driver, access to your vehicle from your phone!

Whether you are outside or in, the smartphone remote control app allows you to check the status of your vehicle, and stop and start certain features – like warm up (or cool down) the vehicle before you get in (we all love remote start for winter, but who ever thought about cooling down those hot leather seats on a blazing warm summer day?), You can also do more in-depth control for your vehicle, like checking battery life, charging the vehicle, and checking fuel and electric levels.

2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Smartphone Remote Control AppIt’s awesome because the app uses the built in WiFi for the vehicle – at no additional cost (like most ‘extra’ services) but it only can be used to run the app and not your phone or tablets that you may be using in the vehicle.

The Outlander also comes with some awesome safety features like blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, auto high beams, cruise control and a 360-degree camera system.

Check out the all new 2018 Outlander PHEV at Sunset Mitsubishi.
