Car Caché Review & Giveaway

I was compensated with product in exchange for this post, but all opinions are my own.

I don’t know about you, but nothing is more frustrating then driving down the road and needing to hit the breaks or turn the corner and my purse and all its contents go flying onto the floor, or on the other side of the passengers seat. Now how in the world am I going to reach it from the driver’s seat?! There is also the dilemma of having a passenger who is sitting where your purse normally is. So you try to finagle your purse on top of the console between you both, and then of course the contents go flying all over the backseat instead of the front!

Well one lady decided enough was enough – and she was going to come up with a solution to the flying purse.  Catherine Seifert decided to create the Car Caché

car cache

The idea is so simple, yet so brilliant.

The Car Caché in Black, Tan, or Black Faux Leather (no animals were harmed in making the Car Caché!) will complement your car’s interior, while keeping your handbag clean, out of the way, and within easy reach.

The Car Caché requires that the vehicle has a front center console with a cover, and the driver and passenger side headrests must have accessible posts. Also, the driver side seat cannot be all the way up while the passenger side seat is extended all the way back. This will make the Car Caché vertical and cannot hold the purse properly.

I have a Thirty-One purse that doesn’t have a zipper or a hook. I love it because it’s big enough to carry what I need, plus put a file or paperwork in there when I need to. I always had a problem with my contents flying all over my car while driving, but now with the Car Caché there are no worries!

Fashion & Style Classes by Skillshare

This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.

As a blogger, I’ve been looking into getting more into fashion blogging. I’m not talking high fashion $900 pair of heels fashion, but thrifty fashions. The thing is being focused on health/fitness for so long I wasn’t quite sure where to start.  So when I was given the opportunity to review Skillshare Fashion Classes I was super excited! What’s the best way to start? What do people look for in a good fashion blog post? Are photograph’s really important? Are my reader’s high fashion or budget friendly shoppers? Or both? A lot of questions I had and was nervous about, were answered through these great classes offered from Skillshare.

Skillshare helps you learn essential skills from industry leaders who are shaping the world of fashion today. Whether you are an aspiring apparel brand mogul or simply looking to write your first style blog post, the Skillshare School of Fashion and Style will provide you with the tools to make it happen. Theme: Tell us your thoughts about Skillshare’s new School of Fashion classes!

I love the Skillshare Class Introduction to Fashion Photography: Capture the Look taking great photo’s is the key to a great blog post as most of you know. If the picture looks bad, so do the clothes.

What You Will Learn

  • Getting Inspired. Tactics for finding inspiration for your photos’ style and a shoot concept.
  • Finding Your Subject. Where and what to look for in sourcing a model.
  • Location. Scouting and exploring the right location for your shoot.
  • Lighting. Different lighting options and how to find the right one for your shot.
  • Posing & Movement. Tips on how to achieve the posing and movement with your model.
  • Framing. Various framing techniques to consider.
  • Client Deliverables. Overview of the editing process and what your deliverables to a client would be.

What You Will Do

Students will leave this class with a set of 2-3 fashion photos for your portfolio. You can find professional models to work with or pull in some of your friends. The idea will be to put the techniques you’re learning into practice to share with your classmates for feedback. A DSLR camera is highly recommended, but a point and shoot or iPhone works, too.

They have lots of great classes that extend past personal fashion, onto interior design, and even starting your own fashion line (I wish I was that creative)!
There’s a class I just signed up for,  Interior Styling: Style Your Space like a Pro

What You Will Learn

Through video lessons and dozens of examples, resources and styling ‘formulas’, you will learn different approaches to styling to create a photo-ready interior. We’ll dive into 8 key concepts that can be applied to any area of your house:

1. Needs. How to asses your needs and address them with styling.

2. Shape. How to establish diversity of shape and size to create balance.

3. Color. How to go bold while sticking within a color palette.

4. Pattern. How to mix patterns while keeping “era” in mind.

5. Texture. How to mix texture to generate the most visual interest.

6. Placement. The difference between a space looking collected vs. cluttered.

7. Bling. How to add bling to a vignette that’s a perfect touch without competing with your look.

8. Botanicals. The best and easiest way to breathe life into a space!

The class will also include expert interior photography tips from Laure Joliet. Laure has shot interiors for the New York TimesSunset Magazine, and has worked with Justina for Anthology Magazine. Crafts, Decor and More with Oriental Trading Company

I don’t know about you, but as a kid one of my most favorite catalogs to flip through was always the Oriental Trading catalog. The crafts alone were enough to keep my eyes glued to the pages, and as I got older the decorations for the holidays was something I was always begging my Mom to buy.

Thanksgiving & Christmas are my most favorite times of the year. I love spending time with my family (and time off work!) and the crafts, baking, cooking, and decorating are just icing on the cake. This year we plan on doing a few crafts from Oriental, as well as buying a few additional decor pieces (I try to add a few new ones each year! My collection is growing quite nicely)

“Carved” Thanksgiving Pumpkin Set Oriental Trading2

“Give Thanks” Thanksgiving Blocks Oriental Trading2

These were 2 of my FAVORITE decor pieces. My son loved playing with the Give Thanks Blocks and spelling out THANKS by himself. I couldn’t get him to leave the pieces alone, Thank goodness they are made well and can stand the test of time (and a 5 year old!)

All the kids also enjoyed putting together the Foam Smile Faces Leaves Wreath Craft Kit as well.

Each kid actually wrote on each a leaf to tell what they were most thankful for this year – I feel blessed to say they all wrote “Family”!

I also got myself something – the cutest Owl Night Light. I like to have some light on in the bathroom in case someone needs to stumble in during the middle of the night. Our previous night light didn’t last very long, but I have been very impressed by the Owl Night Light – especially since it’s so inexpensive. It’s also great because it can be left out all year long.

We also already have plans for our Christmas crafts and decorations as well. I love the Marshmallow Snowman Christmas Ornament , The Wooden Snowman Banner and the Snowman Thermometer Craft Kit, (can you tell I have a thing for Snowmen?)

Ocean Naturals Premium Tuna Citrus Spinach Salad

#CBIAS

I’ve talked about it before coming up with fresh, quick and healthy dinners for my family is always a challenge. I am constantly looking for ways to incorporate the freshest, healthiest foods into my families meals.

Recently I found out about Ocean Naturals Tuna – not only is it good, it’s good for you, and good for the planet.  They hand select only the best catch, and clearly list the species of the fish on each package, and uses only ingredients you can recognize (and pronounce!) In fact, by using the code on the can you can find out where your specific tuna came from by visiting their site.

After trying the Skipjack Tuna (which has 90mg of Omega 3 fatty acids and 15g of protein per serving) I decided to try out a few recipes to see what I could put on the rotating dinner list. Our favorite so far is definitely the Tuna Citrus Spinach Salad.

The salad is quick, easy and delicious. I decided to try it out on my daughter who isn’t the biggest tuna fan – unless it’s covered in mayo! She absolutely loves it and even asked for more. It was a huge success!

Another one of our favorites, are tuna tacos!
