Knowing the Difference Between Agents Can Help You Secure the Best Deals

If you have ever tried to get insurance for yourself, your home or your car, then you know that there are several different kinds of insurance agents to work with. The type of agent often depends on what kind of company he can work with in order to get a policy together. Some agents have better working relationships with auto policy companies than they do with home corporations. Some of the individual agents work with multiple policies where large companies will have one or two people who specialize in each department.

Auto Insurance

This is the most common type of agent who you will work with. Almost every state requires drivers to have insurance on their car, so it’s easier to find this type of agent. Since there are so many auto insurance agents, it can help with the amount that you have to pay for a down payment or monthly payment. Most companies will try to stay in the same price range, but there are some who can offer a lower rate than others simply because they know more underwriters. You can usually develop a good relationship with this kind of agent because you will see that person each month to make your payment or contact the agent frequently about information on your car or your policy.

Homeowners Insurance

Your home is one of the most valuable things that you possess, and there are agents who can find the best coverage in the event that something happens. Your agent can find a policy that covers everything from floods to fires. When you start your policy, the agent will talk to you about how much coverage you want on the home depending on the amount of the belongings that you have. You can easily change this policy if you buy a new house or you need more coverage for items that you add to the home.

Life Insurance

A life insurance agent can help you set up a policy that will provide for your family in the event of an untimely death. The policy can also cover your burial expenses so that your loved ones aren’t burdened with the finances.

Join the #FCchallenge to Help Fight Human Trafficking

Family Christian Stores Disclosure

As Americans, the home of the free and the brave, we don’t think about human trafficking as being an ‘at home’ issue for us. We assume Human trafficking is for poor countries, thousands of miles away, across the ocean. It seems to be something we sweep under the rug, we don’t like to talk about or think about. But it’s here – right in the U.S. and across the globe.

#FCchallenge
Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are trafficked into the U.S. each year. According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year. More than 70% are female and half are children.Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year. Of that number, $15.5 billion is made in industrialized countries. *Facts from Dosomething.org

Kick That Cold & Flu to the Curb with These Natural Remedies

Mom-Central-Disclosure

It is the time of year again that I’ve been dreading. Not only is it cold and dreary, but the kids start coming home with all kinds of ick. I don’t think there was one month last winter that I didn’t have at least one sick kid and most of the time they passed it back and forth to each other. (This makes for a really long winter). We also had sick kids for 2 out of the last 3 Christmas’ and too many visits to the Doctors to count. My counter was covered with antibiotics and other medicines that I didn’t feel the best about giving to my kids – I mean, if you can’t even pronounce it, let alone know really what is in it, why would you want to give it to your kids? So I started to do some research on the best natural remedies to keep colds and the flu at bay.

Get Enough Rest This seems like a no brainer to some, and others think its a myth. I can personally attest to the whole get enough rest remedy. If one of us is not feeling well, and we happen to have a late night, well it’s full blown SICK the next day. Your body needs the rest to focus it’s energy on fighting the battle in your immune system. Go to bed early, not over extend yourself, and yes, this is a good time to be ‘lazy’. Sleep really does the body good!

Blow Your Nose – A LOT This is especially hard to get through the kids tough little skulls, but sucking that mucus back into your head will only make everything worse. Be careful not to blow too hard, the pressure can cause earaches. Make sure to blow the proper way: one nostril at a time. Press one finger over a nostril, and carefully blow out of the other.

Drink Warm Liquids – Hot liquids relieve nasal congestion and help prevent dehydration as well as soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat.  Hot herbal tea with teaspoon of honey is definitely recommended.

Try Apple Cider Vinegar & Coconut Oil – Both are known for helping boost the immune system. Try 5-6 tbsp a day of coconut oil, melted and added to your food or drink. Gargle and drink a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Repeat hourly until all the symptoms disappear

Try Little Remedies Products The Little Remedies line of products have everything they need, but nothing they don’t. Their products help relieve fever, cold and flu symptoms with the fewest ingredients possible – no artificial flavors, artificial colors, or alcohol. Little Remedies was created by a Father who was tired of searching for products to give his kids that were effective and that he could feel good about. Little Remedies believe less is more and strives to make sure all of their products contain what is needed for fast, safe, and effective relief. Little Remedies products have become a staple in our medicine cabinet. They are a brand I know I can trust to give my kids the care they need, but not all the extra chemicals they don’t. My favorite product is the Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup. I have to admit, I love it so much that I’ve used it myself! I really can’t wait to try the honey pops (I haven’t been able to find them at my local stores).

Thankful for Your Pup? Check out these Great DIY Holiday Gift Ideas!

Disclosure: Post sponsored by Lunchbox but all opinions are my own.

Our dog is more than just a pet – he’s part of the family. He’s there for us to love, and he shows us affection and attention even when we don’t deserve it. He plays the peace keeper, the companion, the protector, and the friend.

Buddy deserves to be treated extra special especially this holiday season and Walmart agrees. Walmarts #TreatThePups  has some great DIY ideas to show your pet exactly how much you love them, and gives you a way to include them in your holiday festivities.

best-BudsFrom Milkbone, to Milo’s Kitchen and Pup-peroni there are plenty of treats that I know Buddy would enjoy that I was able to pick up at Walmart. We made him his own special chalkboard treat jar and trust me – he knows exactly where it is at any point in the day. He always makes sure to let me or the kids know he knows as well! He is always on his best behavior when we go to give him something out of the jar!

The jar is simple and cheap to make – buy a storage jar or container at Walmart, or even your local dollar store (depending on what size you need). You can even recycle mayo jars, etc. Buy a can of  chalkboard paint, and get your creative juices going – and viola! We are able to personalize his jar – with Treat The Pups logo, or even his name. Its a super cute simple idea that won’t take a lot of time or money.

Black Friday Holiday Gift List Printable

As I mentioned last week it is very important to make a list of what you are shopping, who you are shopping for, and what your budget is.

To get the most bang for your buck this Black Friday, take along this Holiday Gift Planner. Make a list of everyone you are shopping for, ideas you have for them, notes if you need to ship it or not (trust me, this is key – I bought an awesome gift for my niece at an awesome price a few years ago, but I completely didn’t think about how much it would cost to ship it..which ended up being as much as the toy!) You can also list your budget for that particular person, and check them off your list when you are done (that is my absolute favorite part of any list!!)

Feel free to print as many as you need, and share with others. Happy Shopping!!!
