Gmail Hacks You Probably Didn’t Know About

Gmail has a lot of great features for its users, and just like anything else they are constantly changing and adding a lot of new ones all the time as well. Some of us have a tendency to just use what is easy and convenient to access, without realizing the full potential of what Gmail has to offer.

Unsend
Ever regretted sending an email when it was too late? If you are quick enough, you can recall an email after its been sent. Got to your email settings by clicking on the upper right corner of the inbox – click on labs – scroll down to undo send and enable it, then save changes at the bottom of the screen.

Then go back to your email settings again – click on general – scroll down to undo send – and toggle the time limit to something that you think works best for you – then be sure to SAVE. Now you have a good 10,20 or even 30 seconds to recall it before it’s sent out in to the land of no return called the world wide web.

QUICK UNSUBSCRIBE
You know how much of a pain it is to unsubscribe to unwanted emails? Usually you have to click through to an external site, explain why you are leaving, and enter your email and name, and yada yada. Well, now you don’t have to worry about it! Gmail lets you cut and run – quickly! As soon as you get the unwanted email, click on the sender’s name and then select ‘unsubscribe’ – and that’s it!

ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE
Ever use the ‘google star’ feature to put the little gold star on emails that you need to come back to, or reply to, or need to keep because they are important? Ever tried going back through all of those (lots of work!)
Go to your email settings – general tab – and scroll down and click on stars.  You can add several different colors of stars! That way you can organize your important emails based on level of importance, and what needs done. You can mark urgent emails with a red star, mark emails you must respond to with a green, and so on. Definitely will help keep you organized.

BOOMERANG FOR GMAIL
If you haven’t used Gmail with Boomerang you are missing out! Boomerang is an awesome add-on feature that can help save you a ton of time! Boomerang is a chrome extension you install and you can schedule emails to be sent at any time! You can also have emails re-sent to you (so if you are busy, but you read an email you really need to get back to later and not forget – have it re-sent to you later).

MAKE A SECRET EMAIL ADDRESS – USING YOUR CURRENT ONE
G-mail address can be modified with periods and ‘+’ signs. So I can send an email to allinadayswork@gmail.com or allinadays.work@gmail.com, or all+inadaysworkblog@gmail.com and it would still reach the same person, which is pretty awesome. The email goes to the same destination, no matter which way I change it.The reason this is cool? You can filter your emails addressed to specific address. So say I give family one email – and then all my online orders another – I can apply a filter and label it and it’s almost like having several different email addresses!

USE GMAIL OFFLINE
Yes, you can check your email without internet connection! You can respond to them (they just won’t send until you are back online). You do have to change your settings to be able to do this. Access the offline section of your Gmail settings and select ‘enable offline mail’. You will need the latest versions of chrome and gmail to use it!

The Surprising Careers That Could Pay As Well As Give You Huge Satisfaction

Many of us strive to be happy within our careers. After all, we spend a huge chunk of our lives in the workplace. It has even been noted that you can often spend more time with your work colleagues than your own family. So we can possibly all agree that your chosen career path is an important decision that you have to make. However, many of us can avoid thinking about the decision of a career and before long end up in a job that you dislike, or feeling like you are not passionate about the work you do. The truth is, no matter what stage of life you are at, you can always do something about your choice of employment.

Working in a medical profession

Working in medicine or in a medical profession may seem like a lot of work and study, but actually there are some jobs that you can do that require less time in the books and more time helping people. Working in a medical profession could be extremely rewarding. For example, becoming a radiologist where you screen people with MRI and X-Rays can determine if someone is struggling with a disease like cancer. Furthermore, you could be saving someone’s life in the process by finding this information. Other job opportunities include nursing where you can research and gain a qualification by doing an online fnp program, or working in the hospital in other important roles like administration or ward management of that is more your thing.

Working in the care sector

You could consider working in the care sector, the options are endless for this sort of work. Firstly, you might want to consider the type of care role you would be best suited for. This sort of job is more commonly associated with elderly care. Where you can help someone in their home, or even within a care facility. From doing general chores like shopping and running errands to actually taking care of them. Enabling them to wash and get in and out of bed successfully. While this is the most well-known option, other things to consider would be working with children. There are care homes specific to the youth as well as working with departments like finding foster carers and new adoptive parents.

Working with people to better their lives

Finally, many of the satisfaction we feel in our day to day lives is down to helping other people out. So this is where you could consider making a job out of it in other aspects. For example, working in the fitness and health sector could help you to make other people’s dreams become a reality. You could be helping people to lose weight, or overcome an injury they have had. Or maybe just to better improve their well-being by increasing their fitness or energy levels. Other options around this sort of subject would be to work in the nutrition or diet industry, helping people to become more knowledgeable about the food they eat. Or even on a psychology aspect where you become a councillor or help people overcome anxiety, stress and depression to feel better about themselves once more.

Helping people in any way can really give us the job satisfaction that we crave daily, but we can also ensure that our own lives are not disrupted by having the financial backing to match.

Health Benefits of Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is derived from a peppermint plant – a cross between water mint and spearmint, and it thrives in Europe and North America. Though peppermint oil is commonly used as flavoring in food and beverages, and fragrances in soaps and cosmetics, peppermint oil has a lot of health benefits.

Evidence suggests that peppermint oil likely can help with certain health issues, such as irritable bowel syndrome. It can also help with indigestion and prevent spasms in the GI tract caused by several issues – and even help sooth tension headaches when used topically.

Peppermint oil could cause side effects such as heartburn and it can interact negatively with certain medications – be sure to talk to your health care provider before using peppermint oil.

For dietary supplements peppermint oil has been tried (and successful) for a variety of digestive problems such as:

irritable bowel syndrome
indigestion
heartburn

Dietary supplements containing peppermint oil are also used by some people for the following – and it seems to work.

nausea
vomiting
morning sickness
cramps
diarrhea
gas
colds
coughs
inflammation
sinuses
menstrual problems

Also using it as a topical, on the skin – can also be helpful with:

headaches
muscle pain
nerve pain
toothaches
inflammation
joint conditions
itchiness
allergic rashes
repelling mosquitoes

Also, peppermint oil vapor when inhaled can be used to treat symptoms of colds and coughs.

Exciting Tech Careers You Can Work Remotely

There is this image of people in the technology field always working in Silicon Valley and leading very comfortable lifestyles. Sure, there is a plethora of techies living and working in that region, but what about the rest of the world? Simply put, there certainly isn’t enough room in that area of the world to contain every single trained professional working in the technology field. Instead, lots of tech professionals are working remotely, from home, never having to put on a suit and tie or even be seen to have a great career.

Remote Tech Support Advisors

This is probably the most ideal job for techies who want to work remotely. Everyone is going to have an issue with a device while at home and need to call, email, or even live chat with a tech support advisor. Know that working in this position is sometimes stressful and may require you to do a lot of multitasking during high volume periods. Coincidentally, you can live anywhere you want and still succeed in the industry. Remote tech support advisors who actively stay in the same role for a few years can often get better schedules, which might mean that you can get weekends off or never have to work nights.

Certified Technicians

Through certification programs, tech workers can easily find jobs that will enable them to work remotely. You can go through the Security Data Recovery certification program to learn how to work on Apple products in a short period. Being an Apple certified technician can open an untold number of doors in your career. As Apple regularly posts work at home positions, you might actually be able to be employed by the company while working from home on a full-time basis. Even if you don’t work for Apple itself, being a certified tech means that your resume stands out whenever you apply for technology-based roles and positions.

Freelance Repair Technicians

So, if you are a freelance worker, you are 100% self-employed. You set your hours and you choose what jobs and assignments to accept. In the technology field, freelance repair technicians can get work through popular platforms such as Workmarket or even Upwork, where they figure out and agree to the scope of the work as well as payment parameters. Having certifications can be helpful as a freelance repair tech, but really customers want to know that you are professional and dependable. When working as a freelancer, it is just as important to show up on time and be courteous as it is to know what you’re actually doing.

Technology is a field that is going to grow and grow until there are likely more tech-based jobs on earth than anything else. Doctors are using technology as robots appear in hospitals. Technology is being fused into teaching curriculums as more students use computers and technology to learn at an expedited rate. Even law enforcement is using technology to help with routine tasks such as traffic stops. Get into this field now so that you can work remotely and call the shots in your life.
