Fall Fashion Trends with Stacie’s Bracelets Review & Giveaway

I love supporting local businesses – but it’s even better supporting a business of a friend. I’ve known Stacie of Stacie’s Bracelets  since elementary school (yes, we go wayy back). A few months ago I noticed Stacie making some cute bracelet’s for her nieces on her Facebook page. With each bracelet photo she posted I noticed the detail and creativity increasing, and I found myself looking for her latest creation every morning when I logged in.  Friends started asking her if she could make this or that, and eventually she was busy getting orders together – so busy in fact, she created her own Facebook page to sell her bracelets.
I’ve been soo impressed with Stacie’s Bracelets I contacted her to see if she would be interested in me hosting a giveaway for her. I believe she will be selling these bracelets like hot cakes once they reach the masses, and I’m determined to help her with that.
Check out the awesome designs below, and then enter to win one of your own Stacie’s Bracelets. The winner will be able to work with Stacie as a consultant to create a bracelet to express yourself or style.

Get to Pickin’ and WIN with Capri Sun Big Pouch and American Pickers

collective bias

I don’t know about your household, but in ours fights over the remote are a daily occurrence. One kid wants to watch this, another this, and me or my husband another show (usually not the same one). But there is one thing we all can agree on that we all love to watch – American Pickers. As soon as I turn it on, everyone stops what they are doing and sits down to see what  Mike & Frank find.

Recently my oldest daughter  has been asking about heading out to do some picking of our own – and since I received a great picking kit from Capri Sun I figured we’d give it a try. (These great recycled Capri Sun bags were made by TerraCycle – and you can win one of your own. Find out how below!)
If your thinking of heading out on a picking trip of your own, you’ll need the following:

#CapriSunPickers

  • a sturdy reliable bag to carry all your stuff
  • a flashlight for those dark, hard to see in places
  • gloves – keep your hands protected
  • a magnifying glass – helps you see the small prints, or faded print
  • Notebook & Pen – always make notes of what you find and where
  • Bandanna – to wipe your face or protect your mouth & nose from flying germs
  • Water & Capri Sun Big Pouches – you have to stay hydrated, and we know that
teens have a bigger thirst – the Capri Sun Big Pouch gives them a 2 for 1 without all the fuss
  • The Kid Pickers Official Guide to Picking book, that you can purchase here

We received a great picking kit with all the fixins’ and the great news? Capri Sun is giving away
100 of these kits in their Capri Sun Pickers Contest!!

We have a lot of places in Ohio to go picking. Just up the road there is Lebanon, OH all the way up to Waynesville, OH that are great areas known for antique and collectibles. My daughter & I headed out and were lucky enough to find some street vendors selling some great old stuff. My daughter jumped in right away – she was soo excited and wanted desperately to find some hidden treasures.

Her favorite things to look for were old toys and books;  we made our way thru a ton of shops and lots of street vendors. We could of spent all day there (well, we pretty much did!) Finding just one thing to submit for the Capri Sun Pickers Contest? Not soo easy!

Fitness Friday: The Hula Hoop Work out

The Hula Hoop Workout

By Jennifer Kelly Geddes for Discover and Play

Remember that easy, breezy feeling you had as a child, when swaying with a hula hoop around your waist? That same joyful feeling can be yours again as an adult. Hula hooping burns 300 calories in 30 minutes and is an excellent workout for your abs, hips, butt and leg muscles. The best part is that it can be done in the basement, backyard, or hotel room if you’re on the road for work. So grab your sneakers and your hoop — it’s time to shake it!

Size it: Skip those flimsy dollar-store picks — a hoop that’s made especially for adults is your best bet. To check the size, stand the hoop next to you; it should reach the spot between your waist and chest. Try a few at the store to pick one with the right diameter for you.

Move it: The front stance is the first move to master. Stand inside the hoop with one foot in front of the other and the hoop at your lower back. Square your shoulders, bend your knees and tuck your pelvis a bit as you start to swing. If your right foot is in front, try a counterclockwise spin — and the reverse if your left foot is forward. Shift your weight between your front and back legs and move your hips backward and forward to keep the hoop aloft.

Walk it: If you’ve managed the basic move above, go on to walking while you hoop — or, for even more fun, try dancing. Walking forward and backward as you hula will add another level of cardio to the workout, and rockin’ to a beat on your MP3 player will raise your heartbeat even more. If you plan to dance, choose a tune with a medium beat and work up to a faster one. Keep a hoop at work, too, and take a dance break in your office, conference room, or at a park nearby.

Make it: Cathy Robie of
Freeport, ME gets her hoops made by her husband, Fred. “All you need is a coil
of black plastic water pipe and some colorful duct or electrical tape from the
hardware store,” she explains. Experiment with different tube diameters and
weights to get the right feel (the larger and heavier the hoop, the slower it
spins and the easier it is to keep it going).

Fall Style with Meijer

This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.

If there is one thing I love to do (besides sweepstakes) is shop. With a limited budget you’ll rarely catch me at the mall (those days are over), so I’m quite thrifty when it comes to fashion. But once thing my friends will tell you about me is that I know how to dress – and I know how to find a deal. So when I got the opportunity to go shopping for myself at Meijer for some fall clothes I was super excited.
If you think Meijer is just for food or Halloween costumes, your mistaken. I went into Meijer with a limited budget I set for myself to just get a thing or two I could wear to work. It didn’t take me but a few minutes to go wayy over budget – not because of the prices, but because of the deals! Meijer was having a B1G1 50% off and with all the deals I was finding I just couldn’t resist.

#MeijerStyle

They had some awesome cute sweaters and tops, as well as dress pants that were a great fit!

We also know that accessories are a huge part of expressing your own style – Meijer’s cute collection of socks, scarfs, shoes and jewelry help you do that , without breaking your bank. I was able to get 2 cute outfits and a few other things for less then $100! (Keep an eye out for my next post featuring my picked styles!)

V-tech InnoTab3: Review & Giveaway

This is a sponsored post, VTech product, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by VTech.

I knew my son would be super excited when I received the chance to review V-tech’s new InnoTab3. It seems like daily I am searching for my Kindle Fire or iPad because he’s ‘borrowed’ it and it’s in some crazy place he went to get some me time – like his closet, or under the stairs. When I told him he was going to get his own tablet and he couldn’t of been more excited.

I think his favorite part is that it has a camera just like Mommy’s iPad. He can rotate it to take pictures of himself, or rotate it out to take pictures of his sister’s or the dog (or Mommy – who is virtually unaware my picture was being taken while in a very unflattering pose while working out). He also loves LOVES the ArtStudio – sometimes kid’s need a break from thinking too much (yes I said it) after a long day of Kindergarten he doesn’t always want to jump on his tablet and just go over more letters and numbers and sound (though don’t get me wrong – he LOVES playing the games…but little boys? They need to just not think every once in awhile).  The ArtStudio gives him a creative outlet to keep him buy while Mommy is cleaning, or cooking, or doing household chores.  (like other mom’s of boys you must know how important this is – every time I turn around he seems to be into something or causing trouble!)
So it’s obviously my son loves it, and I love it as well. A durable tablet to keep him busy with educational apps and my most favorite part? I can download games and fun from the computer, instead of making a trip to the store or waiting for it to be delivered to the house (yes, I’m a bit impatient). When my son gets his reward for his behavioral or chore chart , we login and he gets to pick out an app! It’s great!

InnoTab® 3 Learning Tablet:

•The InnoTab® 3 combines educational games, creative activities and reading skills in a child-friendly, multi-function, touch screen tablet to make learning fun.

•Compact and lightweight design with 4.3” color touch screen, new directional pad and tilt sensor

•2.0 megapixel, 180° rotating camera with more than 55 photo features and special effects

•Your child can even embark on fun, educational adventures with their favorite characters such as Doc McStuffins®, Sofia the First® and Jake & the Never Land Pirates.

•The InnoTab 3 makes learning fun for children, while giving them a cool electronic device made just for them!
