Kings Island for Kids: What You Don’t Want to Miss

I have been lucky enough to grow up just 30 minutes from Kings Island Amusement Park. Anytime we have family come into town I always suggest a visit to KI. There is literally something for everybody – especially the kids!

Recently we had a van full of little ones – ranging from 6 months to 14 years – and we decided to hit the park!

The first stop (if you can make it past the smell of LaRosa’s Pizza, fresh fudge, or Starbucks coffee) should be Planet Snoopy! There’s rides, shows, and you even can meet your favorite Peanut characters. This is where the kids always want to hang out!

There is one ride that nearly every single person loves – Boo Blasters – one of the first rides that you’ll see when you enter Planet Snoopy. Test your skills blasting the ghosts and more with this awesome ride. I will tell you this is the one that my kids ask to ride over and over again. It also has AC so this is a great ride if you need to get out of the heat (or even the rain).

Along with the dozen or so other rides that are so much fun, meeting the characters is always an adventure. Our favorite has always been (and probably always will be) Snoppy himself.

You could spend the majority of your day in Planet Snoopy alone – between the blue ice cream and Chick-Fil-A, there’s no wonder the kids never want to leave!

But Kings Island has a lot more to offer, even for the ones who aren’t quite big enough to ride roller coasters. Soak City is the water park area of KI which is FREE with admission. I know so many of the big parks now charge additional for their water park features, which makes Kings Island stand out even more. With their annual pass, you can enjoy the cool or warmer weather – just pick your poison.

Soak City has over 50 water related activities – which includes 36 water slides! I would say my two favorites – and the 2 most anyone can enjoy – is the wave pool, and the lazy river. Even if you have a little one there is plenty of ways you can cool off. The kiddie pool areas, or sit them in your lap (with a life jacket on of course) as you float down the lazy river. It’s a perfect way to cool off on a hot day!

This can help you discover new ingredients and try out different styles of healthy cooking. The images in your cookbook can be a huge inspiration that gets your tastebuds tingling. It can also show you that eating healthy doesn’t have to be time-consuming or difficult. The best way to narrow down your cookbook options is to think about the foods you enjoy eating. You can then see if there is a healthier approach to creating these meals. Don’t be afraid to try something completely different to what you are used to.

Each year, new food brands are introduced into our local grocery stores and online. This can make it difficult to know which products are right for you and which ones aren’t. This can make it easy to lose interest and just buy the products you are familiar with. You can swap recipes and go food shopping together. Your friend might be able to recommend stores you can shop at or food blogs to visit. You could also host a weekly healthy cooking night where you can experiment and try new meals. This will not only help you maintain your healthy eating regime and help you avoid temptation. But sharing this experience with someone else can also make it more fun and enjoyable.

 

So whether you want to improve your health or lose weight, these ideas can make you more excited about healthy eating. It doesn’t have to be boring if you don’t want it to be.

Everything You Need To Know For Sexy Legs

What do you think of when you think of sexy legs? All different types of legs could be considered sexy. Long, lean legs. Short legs. Muscular legs. It’s all down to what you want to see. Do you want to build a pair of sexy legs of your own? Then use these tips.

Work On What You Want to Grow/Shrink

Take a look at your legs. Is there anything you’d like to grow, or shrink? Growing is actually pretty straight forward. You regularly do exercises targeting part of the leg you want to grow, and eat to support the growth. This is the secret to a peachy bum – do exercises that make you feel your bum working, such as lunges and squats. Then make sure you’re eating the right foods so your body doesn’t actually eat the muscle it’s just built. Shrinking things is harder, because you can’t spot train. You can, however, stop training something, or do plyometric exercises on it to try your best to slim it down.

Aim To Get Stronger

Aim to get stronger and you’ll build the muscle in your legs you need for definition. Here are some great exercises for building leg strength.

Increase/Decrease Cardio

Some people may or may not need cardio, depending on the body type. If you have a naturally slim figure, it’s unlikely you’ll need cardio to get leg definition. If you are naturally somebody who holds on to fat, cardio can help reveal the definition you’re building in your legs.

Get The Right Foods Inside Of You

As mentioned before, you need to make sure you’re eating enough to support your muscle building. That doesn’t mean you can eat anything you want though! You should have the following foods regularly:

  • Lean protein.
  • Protein bars and shakes.
  • Fruit and vegetables.
  • Nuts and seeds.

Of course you can include things like cheese and sauces, but they absolutely must be in moderation. Tracking them is the best way to go so you have a realistic idea of what you’re consuming. People don’t realise just how high in calories certain things can be!

Be Consistent!

Consistency is the ultimate key to getting results. If you train your legs once a week for a few months, you should notice a huge difference. Some people notice differences faster than others, but it’s all down to your body type. Some people like to train legs more than once a week, but you need to make sure they have recovered from your last session first. Otherwise, you’ll be damaging muscle rather than building it. You should never train your legs anymore than 3 times in one week. It might even be a good idea to have one day for heavy weights, one day for medium, and one day for bodyweight exercises.
