For those that know me, know I absolute love every single Tyler Perry Movie. Though Madea can make me forget about my bad day, and laugh away my stress, when I watched the trailer for The Single Moms Club I knew this was going to be a movie I could relate to. I was a single Mom for quite a long time – actually for longer then I’ve been a married Mom! Having 3 kids and trying to balance raising my kids and taking care of them, along with work, the house and trying to find myself again was rough. I didn’t always make the best decisions and I struggled with balance for a really long time. That’s why I am so excited for the release of this new movie. The Single Moms Club is a story of five struggling single Moms who put aside their differences in the midst of a school dilemma with their kids to form a support group. If only there was a support group when I was a single Mom! Though I always had the support and help of my parents and my sister, no one understood my struggles or concerns like other single Mom’s.
When I saw the cast for this movie, before I even watched the trailer (and I tried not to be bias since I do love me some Tyler Perry) I knew this had to be a great movie. They combined some of the best – and most contrasted – stars to play the roles of the single moms. Starring Amy Smart, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cocoa Brown, Zulay Henao and Nia Long – how could this be anything other then an awesome movie?
One of my favorite quotes in the movie, and really quote about life was from the character Peter (played by Ryan Eggold) is
“You don’t have to be good at starting over , you just have to be good at letting go.”
