Fitness Friday: The Neon Vibe Race is coming to Dayton! August 10th. WIN a registration for you and a friend!

As you know one of my goals for this year was to become healthier, in shape, and well, a runner.

A few months ago I participated in the Color Me Pink 5k for breast cancer awareness, this month we are doing the Color Me Rad race, and next month we have another that I am SUPER excited about.  The Neon Vibe 5k in Dayton, OH. What is different about The Neon Vibe 5k you ask? Well besides being splashed with awesome colors as you run by (similar to some of the other races I participated in) this race is at NIGHT.  With NEON glow in the dark color to make this race unique from all the rest.

Breakfast On The Go: Quick & Easy with Tyson Breakfast Bowls

I am sharing my favorite breakfast on the go as part of a sponsored post by Collective Bias.

By now you know me – I’m always on the go. Quick and easy is my answer whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think about what’s going into my body – or my kids.
We’ve pretty much X’d the PopTarts, most sugary cereals, and *gasp* even most ‘granola’ bars.

When I heard about the Tyson Breakfast Bowls I was thinking chicken. I guess Tyson & chicken just go hand in hand. I was pleasantly surprised to see the two  varieties they offered at my local WalMart – Sausage, Egg & Cheese as well as Bacon, Egg & Cheese. (who doesn’t love at least one of those??) See all about my shopping trip here.

Of course, we had to try both. I bought 3 boxes, and at $3.47 that isn’t too bad for 6 mini breakfast bowls. But I know between the 5 of us I wanted to be prepared

with enough. We grabbed some fresh fruit to go along with it, and we decided to try them on Saturday morning. My son is a picky eater, so I figured at least he could eat some fruit, if he didn’t
like what he tried.

(I picked up some Coke for my husband too – he has to have his caffeine while he’s on the road). Anyway, the kids were super excited to try out the breakfast bowls, so
we decided I would make them for breakfast the next day.

The bowls were a bit smaller then I expected. I made each family member 2 (one bacon, one sausage) and a cup of fruit. I swear they devoured them within minutes,
and I was up making them more! Even my picky 5 year old loved them, (especially the bacon -but who doesn’t love bacon??) Even my husband who prefers all ‘home cooked’
meals really enjoyed them – and that’s saying a lot. This is definitely a great breakfast for Mom’s on the go – and kids rushing out the door to get to school. I can definitely see
myself buying these in bulk especially once school starts!
