Macy’s Back to School Kids Event!

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I have to admit, the only thing I really enjoy about my kids going back to school is the back to school clothes shopping. I am a bit of a shopping addict, and Macy’s is one of my favorite places to shop! It’s one of the few places that all of my kids can find something they love – well, and me too of course (Mom gets some ‘kids are  going back to school clothes’ too!) Not only does Macy’s offer the latest in fashion and styles for all ages, but they also carry quality school uniform apparel!

Macy’s is hosting some awesome Back to School Events across the U.S. for kids, and you definitely don’t want to miss out!

Back to School Essentials with BoxTops at Walmart

I have one word for Back to School preparation –  exhausting. With three kids who wants clothes from ten different stores, shoes from two others, I’m just tired. I swear that I need an extra day in the week just to do all the running around. So when it comes to other essentials like school supplies, lunchbox essentials, and other items we need to be  prepared for back to school, I refuse to go to more than one place – so we always hop in the car and head to Walmart for all of the back to school needs.

I love to stock up on items not only for price,  but convenience as well. Who likes to run to the store multiple times a week? No thanks, I need more hours in the day as it is!  When we are shopping for tissues, paper towels and snacks, we always keep an eye out for Box Top items.

I’m pretty sure we bought a dozen boxes of Kleenex to stock up their classrooms, tons of Viva paper towels since we know how messy kids can be at lunch and tons of other Box Top friendly snacks, breakfast foods, and Ziplock baggies!

It’s always nice to know I can get everything I need in one trip, and support our schools at the same time!

Charlie Brown Inspired Treats – and a Preview of the all new Enhanced Remke Rewards Card

This is a sponsored post. Though I was compensated for my time, all opinions are my own.

I’m not sure  where this summer went to. It seems like just last week the kids started summer break, but I blinked and now they are going back to school! Though I love summer, fall is also one of  my most favorite times of year. Campfires, fall festivals, pumpkin pickin’, and the holidays. What’s not to love right? One of my favorite traditions is watching It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and then of course A Charlie Brown Christmas in the winter. I love the Peanut characters, and I’m excited about the new Peanuts movie releasing in November (one more to add to our holiday traditions).

The kids and I decided to try our hand at some Charlie Brown inspired treats,  so we headed over to one of our favorite grocery stores Remke Markets. They are an awesome local grocer located in Ohio and Kentucky (you can see if there’s a store near you here).
I recently found out that Remke is launching an enhanced rewards program that I’m pretty excited about. Right now you can get the Remke Preferred Card  which is a reward program that gives you special sale pricing and reductions you can only receive by being a member where you can receive special coupons (and even some freebies). You also earn fuel rewards at Speedway – which can automatically be loaded onto your Speedway card with no hassle.

The enhanced rewards program  that is launching soon, has a lot of great features  that I can’t wait to try. The Remke Mobile app which allows you to browse digital coupons, check store locations,  hours and even view the weekly ad.
They also are launching  special rewards clubs, such as the Baby Club, Pet Lovers Club, etc. When you regularly purchase items in these categories, they will send you special offers in those departments (a full list of the clubs will be available on the app!)
I think my part is the ability to add digital coupons directly to your Remke Rewards Card. Just log-in, add the coupon and the savings will be applied at  checkout when you scan your card! !
The enhanced program launches  soon, so make sure you go sign up for your Remke Rewards Card online now, and they’ll mail it directly to you!

Oh, and don’t forget to go check out the awesome deals right now at Remke.  We got all the ingredients we needed for our treats, and as always I was impressed by the everyday low prices, and great sales! In fact, we want you to find out for yourself, enter below for your chance to win a $50 Remke Market Gift Card!!!

Ingredients:
-2 Tablespoons Butter
-2 cups Mini Marshmallows
-3 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
-Vanilla Frosting
-Food Coloring
-Black Frosting Pen
Directions:
-Melt butter in microwave completely
-Pour over marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 3 minutes, stirring every minute between
-Mix in Rice Krispies Cereal
-Press into a 13×9 in pan and allow to cool completely
-Separate frosting into four bowls and add food coloring to make a yellow, red, pink, and blue bowl

Easy & Healthy School Lunches

Up until this weekend I was really in denial about my kids going back to school. Though I do somewhat like the structure of the school year like daily routines and early bedtimes, with working full-time and doing it on my own makes it a bit tough. Making sure that everyone is up and ready to get out the door to the bus on time – with everything they need- stresses me out!

One of our biggest time consuming things to get done in the morning in packing lunches. The first few weeks the kids don’t mind a basic sandwich and snack. But as the year goes on it gets harder and harder to keep their lunches interesting, tasty and healthy. They get bored with the same ol’ same ol’ – and who can blame them? I have a lot more options working in an office, and a lot more time, then my kids at school. So the kids and I headed to Walmart to pick-up some yummy stuff for their lunches.

My son is probably the pickiest and he isn’t the biggest sandwich fan. I always like to pack finger-foods, he’s more likely to eat it and most of the time we can re-pack what he doesn’t eat for the next day.

One of his favorites is our Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish Crackers trail mix. Goldfish crackers, granola, and some chocolate make it his favorite sweet treat. Paired with a cheese roll-up, some fruit (his favorites are grapes and blueberries) and some string cheese and he’s set. What I love is I can pack these in advance for the week and he can grab what he’s hungry for each day.

I even keep some for after-school snacks – that way he doesn’t snack too much and he’s still hungry at dinner time.

He isn’t a big fan of meat, however he will eat cut-up ham or turkey with his Goldfish crackers and grapes. Plenty of protein and healthy – I also love to add some yogurt every few days as well.

One of the items we never forget to put in his lunchbox is Wet Ones® antibacterial hand wipes. I learned a few years ago that the kids aren’t always given a chance to wash their hands before lunch – and do you know how many germs their hands come in contact with throughout the morning at school? Let’s just say eww. So I buy the Wet Ones travel packs or Wet Ones singles, to make sure that they always have clean hands before they start eating.

Speaking of Wet Ones, don’t forget to go enter for your chance to win a years supply of Wet Ones® for your home and your child’s classroom, plus $1000 cash! www.wishihadwetones.com
