Have you ever looked at lingerie catalog or websites and thought “I wouldn’t be caught dead in that?!” It seems like most sites are going for slutty vs sexy, so when I was introduced to figleaves.com I was excited to see  classy yet sexy lingerie sets. Now I have to admit the majority of the time, like my clothes, I like cotton and comfortable. My bra and undies tend to match what I’m wearing. So since I live in yoga pants and t-shirts, you can imagine what my undergarments look like! But when I go to work, or dress up for a night out on the town, I want to feel sexy and alive from my shoes to my undergarments. You know the quote “You look good, you feel good?” Well this definitely applies when you have a cute set of matching lingerie.

#LiveLoveLingerie

Their online shop is super user friendly as you can sort by color, style, size, and more. Additionally there’s an online fitting room and bra size calculator to make it easy to figure out your size from the comfort of your own home. I ordered the set above, and I have to admit I love it. Simple and sexy, it definitely makes me feel good.

Figleaves has something for everyone, carrying bra sizes running from A-K cups. They  offer more than 200 different brands in a wide variety of styles and price points so it makes it easy for every type of shopper to find something great! They boast limited editions (lots of things you can’t find in the U.S. – figleaves is U.K. based so we get our choice of a lot of items you can’t here!), exclusive designers, gorgeous French lingerie, and more.

Healthy Dessert: Pineapple Angel Food Cake

If there is one thing that my family loves – me included – is dessert. Since we’ve been eating healthy, we like to splurge and enjoy a treat on the weekends, but sometimes during the week a piece of fruit or yogurt just doesn’t do the trick. When I found this awesome recipe for Pineapple Angel Food Cake I knew this was the answer to our cravings!

[amd-zlrecipe-recipe:2]

One of the main reasons we LOVE this recipe, is because even the kids can make it alone! They can throw together the cake mix and pineapple with no problem, and on occasion they will add a can of peaches or cherries, or even strawberries. Each cake mix and can of fruit has different calories, but over all the entire cake is less then 1,000 calories! (I wouldn’t recommend eating it all in one sitting though).

pineapple mix

It takes seconds to whip it together, and it only bakes for about 25 minutes or so. It’s easy to throw it together and let it bake while you finish dinner. The kids love the whipped topping, but make sure it’s cooled before you add it.

If for some reason your family doesn’t polish off the entire cake after dinner, make sure to put it in the frig. The juices and pineapple can get a bit funky pretty fast!

New eCards from American Greetings

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of eCards from American Greetings. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have good intentions – I really do. I have plans to send out birthday cards and a little gift to all our family and friends all over the world. But I have to be honest, I can’t cut it. If your birthday is within the first 2 months of the year, congratulations! You probably got a cute little card, with a little homemade picture or card from the kids, and if you were lucky a gift to go with it. But once March hits – sorry about your luck! This Mama gets busy with not 1, but 6 birthdays in less then a 30 day period, two of them being my daughter’s! I get so busy that I sometimes don’t remember birthday’s until the last minute – usually the day of.

5 Tips to Get Your Kids to BRUSH

This paid post is brought to you by the new free Oral-B Disney Timer App as part of a Type-A Parent Community Sponsored Post.

Do you remember in the movie Uncle Buck when John Candy’s character Buck threatens to do a DNA test on Miles and Maizy’s toothbrushes to make sure they actually brushed their teeth?
Welcome to my world! If you have ever felt the same, check out these 5 Tips to Get Your Kids to Brush.

5-tips-to-get-your-kids-to-brush

  1. Tell a Story – Stories go a long way with kids. Anytime my kids ‘forget’ or fib to me about brushing their teeth, I bring up their Great Uncle. He was a random brusher, who now has dentures. He’s taken his teeth out to show them, and encourage them to brush their teeth. We also Google, “What happens if you don’t brush your teeth” and search images. ICK! That even makes me want to brush more!
  2. Set an Example – You’ve probably heard it a million times. “Kids learn from what you do, not what you say”. If they don’t see you regularly brushing and taking care of your teeth, what makes you think that they are going to? I actually brush my teeth with my 5 year old every morning and night (when possible). Sometimes we ‘race’ to see who can make bubbles the quickest, and other times we do a little jig. Setting an example will help them make better choices when you are not around.
  3. Make Bubbles – I have told my kids over and over again, you have not fully brushed your teeth unless your mouth is full of bubbles! The gel toothpaste should disappear, and you should be foaming at the mouth like a crazy dog (that one always makes them laugh!) Like I said previously, make a game of it. It seems less like a ‘chore’ and more like fun!5-tips-to-get-your-kids-to-brush
  4. Timer – Having a timer set so the kids know exactly how long they are brushing is key to sparkly whites! Check out the awesome Disney Magic Timer app by Oral-B. This will help any kid keep on brushin’ with the fun tunes from Disney. Make sure to purchase one of the great Oral-B products so you can download the app for free. Even my oldest enjoys getting down while brushing to this app – what I love is it’s not a timer that I have to pack when we go on vacation or to visit relatives. The app can be downloaded directly to your phone so you can use it whenever, wherever!
  5. Rewards – Some parents don’t agree with giving rewards for things children should just automatically do. But I think kids should be acknowledged for it. Just because I do my job while at work, doesn’t mean I don’t like to hear ‘good job’ from my boss, or to get a bonus at the end of the year because I worked hard! Kids will work harder if they know there is a reward in the future. We incorporate teeth brushing into our chore chart where my kids work towards a goal – whether it be money, going to a movie, or with my son, Lego sets!5-ways-to-get-your-kids-to-brush
