Bathroom Cleaning Tips that Work

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Scrubbing Bubbles®. I received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for participating.”

Besides laundry there is one chore that I dread doing that needs to be done on a regular basis – bathroom cleaning. I never really realized just how bad it could be until my husband and his step-son moved in. I’m pretty sure for the first six months I cleaned the entire bathroom every time they were done using it! According the Scrubbing Bubbles® Dirty Work Index, two out of every five men admit to peeing in the shower?? EWW! Or how many of them MISS the toilet all together? My 6 year old decided to take it upon himself to see how far away he could stand away from the toilet and still make it in. I learned this weeks after wondering if my toilet had a leak since I was constantly cleaning up a mess. He decided to inform me he can stand all the way back to the wall!
Or when my girls decide to beautify themselves, and there is hair, make-up, and nail polish in places in my bathroom that I have NO clue on how they got there!

So as you can imagine, I was cleaning the bathroom a lot, so I learned to get it done in an efficient, quick manner. So I decided to share my tips with you in hopes that you can enjoy more time out of the bathroom, than in.

Dust & Sweep: Grab a duster with a long handle and remove any cobwebs in hard to reach places such as lights and vents. Dust all the cobwebs and dirt to the floor, then sweep the floors to pick up all the loose dirt, hairs and other ‘stuff’ that may make its way to the floors. Don’t forget behind the door, and especially the toilet.

Take Everything Down & Out: To make sure you get the place spick and span, remove everything from the sinks, showers and bathtubs. Dump the dirty towels & rugs into a basket, and place all your shampoos, conditioners, face washers, and pretty ornaments in your bathroom OUT! It makes it a lot easier to get everything clean if everything is out of the way!

Apply Cleaners to Shower, Sink, Bathtub and Toilet, and well EVERYTHING: I use nothing except Scrubbing Bubbles® Multi Surface Bathroom Cleaner. It expands to hard-to-reach places. It is hard on water stains, soap scum and dirt. I clean all Bathroom surfaces with Scrubbing Bubbles®. Towel racks, shelves, baseboards, doors, blinds, window sills, etc.

With 60 percent of people flushing with the toilet seat up – spraying toilet bacteria everywhere, covering your bathroom with a layer of filth, you want to make sure that every area in your bathroom is germ free! Scrubbing Bubbles® kills 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria, which is why I use it on everything. Then I know my bathroom has a complete clean.

Wattpad’s Anna Todd’s AFTER Book Giveaway

I participated in this sponsored campaign on behalf of One2One Network. All opinions stated are my own.

This year when my daughter got her first smartphone she begged me to allow her to download the Wattpad app. So after my research I realized Wattpad was an awesome app that gave you millions of popular stories to choose from written by amateur and published authors – right at your fingertips. It alerts you when new chapters are uploaded in stories that you’re reading, and allows you to talk to the authors and other readers and discuss all the great writing.

My daughter loves to read (and write) on the app, and most amateur writers probably figure that  only a few people might actually read their stories since there are soo many to chose from. I’m sure that’s what Anna Todd thought when she first started her story based on One Directions Harry Styles;  the story  is based on Tessa an optimistic freshman at Washington State University and the dark, troubled British bad boy who steals her heart.
Every few days Anna would add more to her story – and since last Spring has had over a billion views and 6 million comments. It’s now being turned into a four-book series by Simon & Schuster, and Paramount Pictures has acquired the film rights to adapt the After story for the big screen

Straight Prices with Straight Talk Wireless

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk Wireless for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

There is not much that is scarier than logging in each month to pay your phone bill. If you are anything like me, you tend to cringe when the numbers pop up on the screen – and somehow they are different every single month. You almost need a college degree to decipher all the charges and fees that they tack onto your bill each month. With the bills rising, and with an additional user being added to our plan I was getting nervous. Our bill had gotten to be as much as a car payment! But not all was lost because someone told me about Straight Talk Wireless from Walmart.

With Straight Talk Wireless you can get the same smart phones and iPhones you love, on the same networks with nationwide coverage, without the expense! You can even keep your current phone, and even your own phone number and network with the Straight Talk “Bring Your Own Phone” program. With Straight Talk you can get up to 3 GB of data, unlimited talk & text for just $45! After some research, I learned that is more data than you get than with any other $45 plan out there!!

I wasn’t sure if my daughter was ready for the responsibility of a smart phone – and I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a 2 year contract for her either. But with Straight Talk Wireless we can test the waters without the commitment.

My daughter was a bit concerned that 3 GB might not be enough data for her liking, but with the ability to listen to over 105 hours of Pandora, view over 2,460 webpages, read 41,900 emails, upload 1,920 images to Flickr , spend 153 hours of scrolling through Facebook and 85 hours on Google Maps, I knew it would be more than enough.

We are happy with our Straight Talk Wireless phone service so far, and plan to move out of our contracts one at a time until we are all on the Straight Talk Wireless Network. Our family stands to save at least $2,000 a year by making the switch..so what are you waiting for???

Popcorn Puppy Chow Snack Mix Recipe

Popcorn Puppy Chow with Marshmallows

Ingredients

¼ Cup Popcorn Kernels

2 Tbsp. Oil

½ Cup Mini Chocolate Chips

½ Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

1 Cup Mini Marshmallows

1 Cup Powdered Sugar

1 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder

ingredients

Instructions

In a medium sauce pan over high heat add the oil and 1 Popcorn Kernel and cover.  Once the kernel pops reduce heat to medium high and add the remaining kernels.  Once the popping starts shake the pan to keep the popped kernels from burning.  Once the popping slows remove from heat and remove the lid to allow the steam to escape.  Continue shaking the pan for a minute to prevent scorching or transfer to a separate bowl.
in process 3

In a microwave safe bowl combine the Mini Chocolate Chips and Peanut Butter.  Microwave on high for 30 seconds.  Stir.  Microwave an additional 15 seconds and stir.  Both should be completely melted and smooth, if not, continue microwaving in 15 second increments, stirring after each, until smooth.

Add half of the Popcorn, careful not to add the unpopped kernels, Chocolate and Peanut Butter to a bowl.

Use a spatula to gently fold Popcorn to coat.

Add the rest of the Popcorn, again avoid the unpopped kernels, Chocolate and Peanut Butter and fold to coat.

Once it has cooled a bit fold in the Marshmallows.

In a small bowl combine the Powdered Sugar and Cocoa Powder.

Place ½ of the coated Popcorn into a 1 gallon resealable bag, sprinkle with ½ of the Powdered Sugar and Cocoa.  Seal the bag ensuring there is plenty of air inside and shake the bag to coat.

in process 5

Repeat with second ½ of Popcorn, Powdered Sugar and Cocoa.

Serve or store in airtight container or bag.
