If there is one thing that my family loves – me included – is dessert. Since we’ve been eating healthy, we like to splurge and enjoy a treat on the weekends, but sometimes during the week a piece of fruit or yogurt just doesn’t do the trick. When I found this awesome recipe for Pineapple Angel Food Cake I knew this was the answer to our cravings!

One of the main reasons we LOVE this recipe, is because even the kids can make it alone! They can throw together the cake mix and pineapple with no problem, and on occasion they will add a can of peaches or cherries, or even strawberries. Each cake mix and can of fruit has different calories, but over all the entire cake is less then 1,000 calories! (I wouldn’t recommend eating it all in one sitting though).
It takes seconds to whip it together, and it only bakes for about 25 minutes or so. It’s easy to throw it together and let it bake while you finish dinner. The kids love the whipped topping, but make sure it’s cooled before you add it.
If for some reason your family doesn’t polish off the entire cake after dinner, make sure to put it in the frig. The juices and pineapple can get a bit funky pretty fast!
This Pineapple Angel Food Cake sounds yummy! I will def be trying (after Lent :0) )
2 ingredients! I am IN!!!
We enjoy this recipe! For me, I love that I can mix it real quick and stick it in the oven while we’re sitting down to eat our meal. I didn’t think about trying the other fruit, we’ve only used pineapple. But this is a great angel food cake idea. Thanks!!
Looks like a perfect pineapple recipe. I will have to try it out with my special cake mix!
Sounds yummy! Will have to try it!
