If there is one thing I love (besides my family of course), is clothes. In fact, if you had been to my recent yard sale you would probably suggest I seek help for my shopping habit. I can’t pass up a good deal, or something really cute – whether it’s for me, my husband, or my kids.. (or sometimes my sister, or my Mom..you get the picture).
My most favorite time of year to shop is for summer. Who doesn’t love a cute summer outfit to show off your tan?
I am a big fan of the black and white combo (you should see my closet!) I think the crisp colors (or should I say non colors?) are a classic look that will never go out of style. The other thing? They are completely universal. I can wear them to work, a night out, around town shopping, or even working out. So if I see a top I like, or a pair of shorts 9 times out of 10 they are black or white!
But here’s the thing; I have to admit when it comes to laundry, I’ve been one of those people. I grab my laundry basket and I throw a load in with no thought to colors, blacks, whites, the whole shebang. I know, awful right? Well it used to be. My white’s would come out looking well, not white. They were a grayish/off white color – YUCK! I have ruined many tops and cursed myself for not separating my new tops from the other stuff… and lets not even get started on the black. Ever tried wearing black on black and they don’t even match? Ouch. Not to mention my cotton blend shirts would be stiff from blah, wrinkled.
Then I got smart; I started listening to my Mom (shh, don’t tell her) and I started separating my colors, my whites, my blacks, my towels, etc. So that worked for awhile..then I had kids.
Oh how I do love them. But they make laundry nearly impossible! One person needs this blue shirt for school chorus concert tomorrow, the other needs the white soccer socks for a game, another the red shirt for soccer, and their black shorts. No time for separate loads for this working Mama!
So after many many many trials and errors, I discovered something. The combination of some some handy you- can-find-it-at-Target items, actually kept my clothes the way they were before they all got shoved into the wash.
Yes Tide + Downy + Bounce = I wasn’t pulling my hair out. In fact, recently I found Tide Vivid which does even a better job with my botched together loads!
It is such a relief to be able throw my laundry in, and not worry about what was going to come out ruined, or just dingy.
This post is part of a DailyBuzz Moms Tastemaker program with P&G. I was compensated for my time in writing this post, but all opinions are my own.
I love using Tide it is so easy on your clothes.
