Indoor Fun: Make Your Own Drum & Enter to Summer Jam Sweepstakes

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pringles® Summer Jam

I had some pretty big plans for the summer – ok, well not big plans..but relaxing plans. We finally got an above ground pool that I hoped to spend many, many hours soaking in the rays, I had started working on putting a patio in the backyard, as well as an awesome firepit …but this summer for us has been full of rain. Rain and chilly weather making our pool too cold to swim in, and working in the yard, well impossible. So of course the kids have been completely BORED out of their minds, like ‘I cant watch another movie or play another video game bored’. My kids love to sing and dance, so we decided to make some instruments and start a band!

We used some Pringles cans to make our drums. I had plenty in the pantry 1. because my family loves Pringles and 2. because they have an awesome sweepstakes going on (more about that below). We decided to decorate them using construction paper and Wasabi tape. I poked a hole in the side of the container, and put a paperclip through it to hold the straps for the drums.

The kids had a blast putting on a show (my girls were too shy to get in the picture) but they sang, danced, played, and laughed! It was so nice to enjoy some fun, and a little bit of exercise, even on a rainy day! Be sure to check out Pringles.com/music for inspiration on how to make your own Pringles® can instrument.

  • That is such a cool idea! I could see cutting the cans to different lengths to make different sounding drums, as well.

  • This brings back some great memories. I used to do crafts like this all the time with my son when he was little.

  • Pringles are so awesome. I Love this idea of making your own drum using Pringles, seriously cool! My family loves music, making our own is even better!

  • How adorable to have a drum on a strap that hangs for easy playing! Pringles is fun to eat, and now fun for making music.

  • What an awesome and fun idea. We LOVE pringles so we always have some on hand. This would be a fun idea. We could decorate using washi tape too!

  • We also like to improvise instruments in our house! I try to teach my kids to be creative with the tools available to them.

  • What a fun ideas. We love to recycle and reuse around here. Sometimes I have to make sure my daughter is not looking on garbage and recycling day as she wants to reuse EVERYTHING!

  • In preschool my son made a tamborine with a Pringles container. He really enjoyed it.
