Get Away for the Weekend at Belterra Casino

I have received a complimentary night stay at Belterra Casino Resorts Indiana in exchange for my honest review.

If you are anything like me, planning a weekend getaway with your significant other (or even your girlfriends) can be a bit overwhelming. From getting a sitter, finding a place that isn’t too far away in case of an emergency, someplace fun that you can kick back and relax, or even boogie if you feel like it, and enjoy some great food and entertainment- well, it’s a bit stressful.

So this past weekend as I was trying to find something special for my husband and I to do for our anniversary, I started searching online for a place within 2 hours of Cincinnati, that offered entertainment, drinks, food and more. Though there were a few options to chose from, one especially stuck out – Belterra Casino Resort in Indiana. It met all the requirements on my list, and maybe I could win some money in the process – so it was a win/win for me!

So first thing first – the food. When you have 3 kids you make a lot of chicken fingers and mac n’ cheese. So I was excited to get out and try some grown-up food, with another grown up. When we first started looking at restaurants, I didn’t want to make a choice. What if we chose seafood, and then I was hungry for steak when we got there? I mean, I want to enjoy my night out in it’s full entirety. That’s one reason I love Belterra – they have a ton of restaurants to chose from! They have fancy dining, as well as bar & grills and cafes. So pretty much anything you are hungry for – they have it!

19 Steak & Seafood – a premiere elegant restaurant for great food. They serve only the best cuts of dry aged steak and fresh seafood favorites. They also have a specialty raw bar.

The Buffet at Belterra – The buffet is a all-you-can-eat lovers paradise. I actually ate at the buffet years ago when I was young, when my Grandpa used to frequent Belterra. I remember being in awe of the mass amounts of food offered, especially the seafood! The Buffet at Belterra was completely remodeled just 2 years ago. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a Churasco Grill, Seafood, Omelet Station and wait for it… more than 20 desserts!! I know I’m going to have make a trip back just to take my kids to eat here- they would be in heaven!

Stadium Sports Bar & Grill – After looking for the menu, my husband and I decided to give the Stadium Sports Bar & Grill. The Stadium opened 2 years ago after a renovation. They have 30 hi-def TV’s, over 50 beer selections and some great food. We decided to get a few things and split it, and I’m glad we did. We got the wings, sliders and loaded tater tots. My husband and I both agreed that the sauce for the wings were better than most wing places! The sliders were great, and I loved the idea of loaded tater tots. They also have beer towers that my husband fell in love with and wants to get for the house!

They also offer a Casino Cafe if you don’t want to leave your Blackjack table – they have sandwiches and snacks during casino hours. A few other spots to remember are the Starbucks (YESSS!) and the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop.

Next is accommodations. You don’t even have to leave the casino to get top notch rooms and  amenities. Belterra’s hotel is in 2 towers. They have been recently renovated to double the amount of rooms they offered, and include 51 luxury suites. There is a fitness center & pool for all guest staying at the resort. Parking & valet services are complimentary as well.

I was quite impressed with our room. Most hotels make you feel like you are staying in a cracker box, but the room was spacious, clean, and gorgeous. We had a couch and chair, as well as a desk. and a king size bed. Can I say heaven?? The pillows were soo soft I thought I might suffocate in them! The bathroom included a tub, which of course I took advantage of. I was also impressed that they had a coffee pot with coffee, a hairdryer, and a make-up mirror.

Lastly, but maybe most importantly is entertainment. Belterra offers tons of different options for your entertainment needs.

The Golf Club. This 18-hold championship golf course ranked Top 30 Casino Golf Courses in the U.S.! More than 7,000 yards of golf meanders through lakes and beautiful trees, with naturally contoured elevations up to 65 feet. The picturesque views of Indiana including the Ohio River and Log Lick Creek are hard to beat.
My Dad’s company has a golf outing every year for their employees, and he shared this great photo with me.

Spa Services. The Beleza Spa & Salon offers a pampering relaxing experience that includes massage therapy, hand & body treatments administrated by their highly trained staff. By appointment you can enjoy massages, body wraps, polishes, hydrotherapy baths, manicures, pedicures, haircuts, coloring and other salon services.

CenterStage Showroom. The CenterStage Showroom is designed to hold up to 1,500 seats, and they book big-name acts from country-western to household classics. The showroom accommodates a variety of events besides concerts – including live boxing, theatrical productions, and corporate meetings. It has a 25 foot screen and state-of-the-art system enhances your experience. Check the entertainment schedule to see whats coming soon- I’m super excited for Tanya Tucker, I’m hoping to make it back down at the end of March!

And last, but definitely not least, the Casino. I wouldn’t call myself a gambler, though my husband may say otherwise! I like to play the games, and it’s all about luck when it comes to the slots. I played the penny slots in Vegas and did pretty well, so I decided to try the same thing at Belterra. I will tell you this – don’t make the same mistake as me. When you get there sign up for the MyChoice Card. I was impatient and wanted to get to the casino and not wait in line to get my card – my first $150 slipped through my fingers in less than a half hour! When we finally went to get our  cards, they told me since it was my first time that any amount that I lost that night, I would get back in coupons and rewards (yes, a DUH moment). When we went back to the slots,  I put another $50 in and played off it for an hour or so. I was up $50 when we finally cashed out! Definitely lots of fun – and for the more serious gamblers, they have table games and a poker room to try your luck at. They offer free soft drinks while your on the casino floor, and of course the attendants are there to get you beverages, you can just hit a call button if you don’t want to leave your machine.
They also offer tons of promotions, from cash prices to cars, trucks, and more!

We had a great relaxing and fun time at Belterra and I can’t wait to go back!
