Check out All the Fun at the Old West Festival

If you remember last year I posted about all the fun my family always has at the Old West Festival. The kids (and adults) always have such a blast, so this has definitely became a tradition for our family to attend this festival every year – and this year will be no exception!
My son and nephew are always excited to dress the part when we head out to the festival -(as you can see) even my Dad gets into it with them..in fact, we decided to have him locked up by the Sheriff last year!
For a small fee you can make a warrant out for the arrest of a friend or loved one – in this case our Dad – and they call out their name after the gun show.. and someone has to  come bail them out before they can go home!  We had a lot of fun planning this, and even more fun watching him get hauled off to jail! (don’t worry, the grandkids didn’t let him stay locked up very long!)
Besides the sheriff and the jail there is so many fun things to do -from carriage rides, gun shows, lots of great food (including rattlesnake chili), shopping, -and even digging for gold!

This year themed weekends add to the experience of the Old West Festival and include Western Film Weekend Sept. 12-13; Romance Weekend Sept. 19-20; America’s Pastime Weekend Sept. 26-27; Steampunk Weekend Oct. 3-4; OctoBEERfest Weekend Oct. 10-11; and Halloween Weekend Oct. 17-18.
