How to Prevent Breakouts & Enjoy Healthy, Clean & Clear Skin

Breakouts are bound to happen – especially when you’re a teenager. There are a few ways you can help prevent those breakouts from happening quite as often, and here are some of my favorite tips:

Use Make Up Sparingly – make-up had a tendency to clog pores and make a bad breakout even worse. Try using make-up when only necessary, focusing more on your eyes and lips than covering your pores with a heavy concealer. Once your breakout is under control, consider moving to a acne-friendly make-up brand.

Change Your Pillow Case Weekly – dirt, make-up and other bacteria fester on pillow cases causing breakouts right in your own  bed. Make sure to wash your pillow cases at least weekly to prevent future breakouts.

Keep Your Hands Off Your Face – as tempting as it is to pop, poke and squeeze at breakouts – hands off! Your hands can spread bacteria and irritate already inflamed skin.

Drink Water, LOTS of It – water isn’t only good for clearing out your system, but it is also great for flushing your skin as well. Drink 1/2 your body weight or at least 8 glasses of water a day for maximum results.

Take a Break – studies show that acne can sometimes be caused by stress. Take some time to relax and reduce the stress in your life. It shows all over your face.
