Marie Callender’s is at it again – launching the Comforts from Home Project by bringing the comforts of home to those who protect America’s homes everyday: the brave men and women of the U.S. military;bringing a little bit of home sweet home to our service men and women overseas.
We wake up most mornings with a sense of dread – ready to do it all over again.Get up, get the kids up, make breakfast in between keeping the kids from fighting, pack lunches while simultaneously trying to help your son find his other shoe. We rush to get to work to rush home to make dinner and fight with kids to do homework, give them baths and get them in bed on time. Most nights we are irritable and exhausted – but we don’t realize how good we actually have it, while our service men and women overseas would love to trade places with us, even for just a day. All that they sacrifice to keep us safe and free.
When I think about what they deal with on a daily basis, I start to feel homesick for them. Imagine not being able to come home to your own home each day, sleep in your own bed, shower in the privacy of your own bathroom? Going to your refrigerator or pantry to get something to eat whenever you wanted to, or just laying on the couch because you can.
That’s why I am 110% supporter of the USO, and I donate whenever possible. In case you didn’t know, the USO is a nonprofit, non-political organization that supports the troops who need it most by lifting spirits and strengthening resiliency.
Marie Callender’s wants you to submit your own photos in support of the USO, using #comfortsfromhome – with what does home mean to you?
Scripps Network will donate $1 to the USO for each photo received (up to $10K)
Your photos may be featured on air for the following shows:
Kitchen Crashers on DIYNetwork & HGTV – Airing 11/9 and 11/14
“American Heros” airing on the Travel Channel 11/9 at 10pm EST
Guy’s Grocery Games on Food Network & Cooking Channel — Airing 12/14 and 12/19

As the wife of a vet, I LOVE this. I think this is an awesome campaign.
This is awesome. I love when companies support the troops, I am sure they are so missing home when they are away on duty!

I'm a supporter too. We've got a ton of military folk in the fam. And I love this post.
