Growing up just North of Cincinnati has its advantages – I grew up some great entertainment complexes, including Kings Island Amusement Park. Kings Island offers adventures for the whole family – from their thrill-seeking roller coasters, to tons of fun at Planet Snoopy, Kings Island is the place to be!
This year Kings Island is offering more fun with the second annual Banshee Brewfest!
The Banshee Brewfest is 2 weekends in May that give you the chance to sample more than 200 craft beers from all over the country from more than 50 breweries. Not only do you get to sample some awesome new brews, but you also get to enjoy an assortment of delicious food, live music and more.
My BFF and I spent the day with the kids at the park enjoying some rides and fun, and got some much-needed girl time to check out the Banshee Brewfest Saturday night.
There were tons of booths and so many different varieties we decided to step out of our comfort zone and try some brews we might not normally order when were out. We tried some ales, some IPAs (I have to say ,not my favorite) and some awesome ciders I could definitely drink again. It was fun to walk around, listen to the great music, and of course try so many great craft beers.
Now good beer is always even better with good food right? Included in your admission ticket, you also get to try some really delicious food. You get your choice of 4 different meals including:
Italian Sausage topped with onions and peppers served with tortellini salad
Pulled Pork served with coleslaw
Mesquite grilled jumbo chicken wings served with broccoli salad
Roasted corn* station with chicken quarters
It was a perfect evening – and we are thinking about going back next weekend!

If you can’t make it to the Banshee Brewfest, or it’s not your cup of tea (or beer) then check out all the other great special events coming to Kings Island this summer – I’m especially excited for June – the Food Truck Festival!
More than 25 food trucks will be visiting Kings Island June 3rd, 4th, and 5th – I hope to see you there!
