5 Tips for a Pearly White Smile

There is one thing no matter is going on, how I am feeling, or how hard it may be to find someplace to do it, that I always do – and that’s take care of my teeth. Brushing, flossing, and making sure I have a pearly white smile is on top of my priority list when it comes to health and beauty. You know that age old question people always ask, “if you could only take 5 things with you to a deserted island, what would they be?”  Some girls list of mascara, lipstick or blush. I always say my toothbrush!

I have been asked more than once how I keep my teeth so white all the time. It’s not just a once a month thing like a waxing, taking care of your pearly whites is a daily job. One that is completely worth your time and effort – do you want to know the first thing a person notices about you when they meet you for the first time? Your smile.

So I’ve put together a list of the few of the things I do to keep my smile white and bright –

Watch What You Eat. No whitening your teeth isn’t like a diet, but you do need to be careful of what you eat if you want those pearly whites. Red wine, black tea, dark colored soda pops, or other dark colored liquids can reek havoc on your teeth. Limit your intake of these items, or when possible (which is what I do) drink through a straw! If that’s not possible,at least rinse your mouth out with water after drinking a glass of red wine or tea. Also staying away from tobacco products will help keep your smile a bit brighter as well.

Upgrade Your Toothbrush Often. I usually replace my toothbrush every 60 days, some professionals recommend 90. When you use the same toothbrush over and over all you are doing is transferring bacteria back into your mouth, which isn’t only unhealthy but can cause more stains on your teeth. I usually stock up on toothbrushes when they are on sale so I always have a new  one on hand when needed.

Listen to Your Dentist. I know a lot of people think that Dentist overreact when they tell you to brush and floss daily – but my  thought is why wouldn’t you? Maybe it was nearly 3 years of braces, but I brush my teeth at least twice a day and floss at least every other. I do keep a toothbrush and toothpaste in my desk drawer at work, and I also keep one in my  purse -I personally can’t stand the feeling of a icky mouth, and it benefits my health as  well as my white smile.

Use a Great Toothpaste System. I absolutely love my Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste System.

The Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste System provides a clean you can feel from the first use. It also comes with a secondary tube with advanced whitening technologies that are so advanced they can’t be combined! Step 1 deep cleans, and step 2 is the whitening finisher!

What I love about the Crest 3D Brilliance Toothpaste System is it’s like getting a professional polish/whitening at home. When you use the system twice daily, it keeps your smile up to 99% as white as professional polish (with daily use, stain assessed 4 weeks after dental cleaning).

I also use Crest Whitening Strips every 6 weeks to keep my smile bright. What are some of your teeth whitening tips?
