If there is one thing that is always in my freezer that my family can’t live without is ice pops, especially in the summer. Bomb Pops have been a favorite this summer, especially the red, white and blue multi-flavor ones. (I also love the Hawaiian punch ones as well!)
I can’t tell you how many boxes of Bomb Pop’s we’ve went through this summer. The kids grab one to cool off on the way back out to the pool, or one (or two) before bed.
When the kids are out playing and running around with their Bomb Pops, I’m usually working – mostly on my laptop. Now I don’t know about you, but I haven’t mastered the ability to type and eat a ice pop at the same time. When I’ve tried, well let’s just say there is quite a mess to clean up!
So..I decided to try my hand at a Bomb Pop Slushie. I took a Bomb Pop (ok, I took TWO of them) and wet them under the sink to soften them a bit. I then took a knife and shaved/cut off pieces of the bomb pop and poured lemon lime soda over it.
Make sure not to add too much soda (it ‘waters’ it down a bit much) but let me tell you, it was delicious! No worries about dripping or making a mess all over (my hands OR my laptop).
The red,white and blue are my favorite so far, but we still have quite a few other flavors to try. I always pick up a new flavor at Kroger when I do my grocery shopping each week.
