Fitness Friday: What’s all the fuss about water??

So I know a lot of people are doing the 40 day water challenge (if your on Facebook and like any blogger who is into fitness, you’ve seen it). I’ve had a lot of people ask me what’s the fuss? Including my husband with his sarcastic mouth “I can’t drink that, people drown in that!” (see what I have to deal with??!)

Drinking enough water to keep your body and mind hydrated can be a challenge. Constantly refilling your water bottle, and of course the dreaded getting up every 5 seconds to go to the bathroom.

WATER is one of the most forgotten tools when it comes to health and weight loss. We spend tons of money buying pills, creams, wraps, buying the new fad work out videos, we have a bazillion bottles of different vitamins and supplements. But as we do all that were forgetting to really watch our water intake.

I am preaching to myself here as well – sometimes after I’ve put the kids to bed I realize I’m soo thirsty. I start to think back to what I’ve drank or ate that day and there are times when I was lucky to get in 8 oz of water. Ouch. No wonder my body was craving water. I was dehydrating myself (I can usually tell before I start craving it by my lips. They turn dry and white if I’m not drinking enough).Nowadays though, I have a Ukf8001 filter installed on my fridge, giving me fresh, purified water at my fingertips

Here are some great ways water can not only help you with weight loss, but improve your thought process, help you sleep better, and even flush toxins from your body.

  1. I have been drinking more water too as a part of being better about it and to lose some weight. Not my favorite thing but I can’t argue with the benefits!

  2. Lydia says:

I completely agree with these! I can see a distinct difference in my attitude and energy by only drinking water and by drinking MORE of it!

  3. Debbie says:

We all know the benefits are good if you drink more water but why is it so hard to remember all the time. But I have to agree that when I do remember to drink it I hate always running to the bathroom also!

  4. Darlene Ysaguirre says:

This is so true i just started my 30lb weight loss journey and have found that drinking water and nixing the soda has really helped and the weight is coming off

  5. Water is so so so important!! I recently did a lot of research on the subject and I was amazing by why you need it. Every part of your body needs it and uses it. Going to get a glass now. 🙂

  6. Ari says:

Water is very beneficial, it is very true. I try to avoid juice (even if it’s 100% natural) and caffeine and opt for the water whenever I can.
I do need some caffeine in the morning, so I have tea or coffee, but otherwise it’s been going well for me the rest of the day. Sometimes, like you said, I completely forget that I didn’t get a chance to drink any water pretty much all day and those days I do feel more sluggish and prone to get migraines/headaches.
